The buy to let calculator

Options
Pretty handy web page for anyone thinking about getting a buy to let. Still looks like it's worth it yield wide if you're on an average income ....

... And that tax bracket will only increase.

I did what you said about going to google and typing in FT buy to let calculator - and I got to see/use it.

I've no idea what it all meant though, to be honest.
Whoosh it went.... right over my head.

But the question was whether others could reach it; people without subs to FT - and the answer is "Yes, people without an FT sub can see that calculator"

On the last property I looked at it says i would earn 6% pa...ignoring all costs including that there may be a cost to my 200k investment and the 18k stamp duty payable upfront....

I would very much hope any btl investors use slightly more sophisticated models

It does make it clear that it's not taking into consideration other costs (taxable or not).

What it does give you is a nice idea of how battered by tax you might get.
