I joined bfc a few months back, a book company where you got a set of books free then have to buy 4 more books from them in the next year. To be honest i completely forgot about the £2.99 postage i had to pay until i recieved a letter on the 13th september dated the 13th of august!! saying i had to pay within 10 days or £10 for each book i have yet to purchase will be added to my account. I then wrote out a cheque along with a letter explaining id only got the letter a month after it was sent and was going to post it 2 days later which would be the next time i could get to a post box. (nearest one is 20-25 mins walk away!) However on that day (2 days later) i recieved a letter saying the £40 had been added! I then sent them an email and have just recieved one back saying the account has been transferred to a debt collection agency and they hope this information has helped me! I am fuming and sent an email back saying i suggest they get the account back or ill be going to trading standards!! Where exactly do i stand?
I think its o unfair when the letter was very late in arriving but will i just have to pay? I havent got 42p let alone £42!

Check out the direct marketing association the book club are a member of these and email them with your concerns re BFC and believe me you will get a solution quick!
I had a problem with them after they were adding charges and they were very quick to help and refund when I get the involved!
Stick the DMA in google and get more details.0 -

I’m afraid that we can not assist you with this situation. We are a marketing firm, I’m afraid that we have no dealings with BFC.'They only had one cow!'0 -

Just a thought you say the letter is dated 13th Aug, you got it the 13th Sept, is there any markings on the envolupe, not necessary a stamp, but a franking mark, as these usually have the dates on.
My friend had the same problem, what they did when I intervened was she agreed to order the remaining books, I put them on my debit card and she paid me back, and miracelsy all other threats were dropped.xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Ive thrown the envelope away
I havent got the money to buy any books either
