Can anyone recommend one of these please. I want to buy my (adult) sons one each for Christmas, nothing fancy, only want to spend up to about £50 each to video from up high. I've tried researching but brain is getting fried with trying to find something with good reviews. My youngest is the techie of the family and he could probably find me exactly what I'm looking for at a good price in no time but I can't flippin' ask him can I so am stumped.
All suggestions gratefully received. :A

Why not ask him? It'll spoil any surprise element (for him but not his brother) but ensures he gets what he wants and you get very good advice!0

I want to impress him with my extreme knowledge!!! Then after a little while I'll tell him where I got the wonderful idea0

Ah...got it! Have a look at Amazon's best seller, which is in your price bracket and has a lot of great reviews (i.e. not all of them from people who were given one free in exchange for an 'impartial' review): https://www.amazon.co.uk/Syma-X5C-1-Camera-Quadcopter-Helicopter/dp/B00OCFMVHE/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1479501983&sr=8-3&keywords=drone+with+camera0

This is what you can expect from a £50 drone (Syma x5sc):

Could you maybe just get one good drone?
This is from a much more expensive drone (DJI Phantom 3 £700) but there should hopefully be something in the middle of the two:

Parrot AR maybe?0 -
Hmmmm beginning to go off the idea - got to think of something else now
Thanks for the info all0 -
Bah, get the Syma X5, great fun for what it is, cheap spares as well, poor video is guranteed at that price bracket but still can be very interesting and pictures are better than video, you would need something with a gimbal really for good video.
My son bought me a £60 Syma clone last Christmas, best fun i had in years ! went onto buy further drones, with stabilizers (gps hold and gimbal etc) love the hobby now. Go for it !
£250 ish will get you quality like below

Syma X5C is a great drone for a beginner. It has 15 minutes flight time, low transmission range (10-15 meters max), and around 10-12 minutes flight times from my experience (countless hours). There's no need for an expensive drone (DJI, Parrot, GoPro) cause it's really easy to drop/break a drone because of a piloting error. My first drone was Cheerson CX10, then Syms X5C -> Cheerson CX20 -> DJI Phantom 2 -> DJI Phantom 4. Broke all my first drones to pieces
But never had an accident with my Phantom 4 for the past 6 months (100 hours of flying).
