I was in the Chinese supermarket this afternoon & in the chiller cabinet they had packs of fresh sweet tamarind pods
a quick Google reveals that it's eaten fresh as fruit, or can be made into a drink
that's a relief, I thought I'd spotted something that was possibly gonna complicate divadee's chutney making0 -
Tesco have it in their home spices/herbs section. It comes in a masivle block that you put in a bowl and add water to. However our Tesco has a section of world foods and in that there is an Indian section and you can get jars of it, in pulp form that you just scoop into your recipe. I think it was about £1.29 for a jar0

i always look on the website under home shopping to see if they sell what i'm looking for and whereabouts it will be, it saves me wandering aisles aimlessly trying to find osmething they might not sell0 -
