Hi guys
Im in a panic
We leave for Cornwall tommorow night staying tommorow night in a Travelodge then the rest of the journey to Cornwall friday morning
Due to the overnight stop im limited to what food we can take with us and was planning on doing a supermarket shop when we get there
Only ive checked ASDA, Sainsburys, Tesco and Aldi and theie nearest shops are a min of 15 miles away from where im staying with the post code TR12 7LT
Can anyone please suggest any other supermarkets or are there any locals that post on here that can point me in the right direction
We really cannot afford camp site and small shop prices sadly

i'm not local but i googled the postcode and it's Helston, right? Then another quick google for shops in Helston revealed this

there's a spar and a somerfield on the list0 -
If you are driving down you could take things like pasta, rice, tea , coffee and a few tins.Butter , eggs and most veg would be ok left overnight in the car as it's unlikely to get hot at night at this time of year. Then all you'll have to buy from local shops are things like meat, milk and bread with perhaps some veg later in the week. You may be able to find a farmers market or farm shop.
If this isn't possible could you stop at a large supermarket on the way -perhaps after your stay in the Travel lodge? We've found that there is a supermarket near to Travel Lodges in many places and we go there for breakfast as supermarket cafes are much cheaper .0 -

This is the supermarkets list

I am just back from a long weekend in Cornwall, but was staying on the north coast. There are ASDAs in St. Austell and, IIRC, Truro. As above, I take as much dried and tinned supplies as I can and - if possible - "adapt" the trip down or day trips for fresh stuff and cheap petrol. Unleaded is currently 98.9p per litre in most garages in the county, but 94.9p per litre in Tesco, Penzance. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0

I've just worked out that this isn't a slow-cooker holiday. :rotfl:If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0

You may be able to find a farmers market
Falmouth Farmers Market is on a Tuesday. 9am-2pm. The Moor, Falmouth. 01326 376244.
Also - stop off on the A30 about half way down Cornwall at Kingsley Village. It is RIGHT on the A30 with a slip road on/off, so not much of a journey breaker (although by the time you've got that far you'll probably want to just plug on to the end of your journey!) Local produce, good prices I've heard.

I'm afraid it is a bit sparse for supermarket shopping at the far corner of Cornwall!
Have a good holiday.0
