I am trying to buy a resembly priced bridge camera to replace my Fujifilm S4200.
The supermarkets just don't appear to be stocking them - does anyone know why and where I can get one?

Why would you be looking in the supermarket for a decent, all be it a reasonably priced bridge camera? You'd be best to look somewhere that do a range of camera's. Sadly many independent camera shops have closed down but you might be lucky and have one in your town, bigger mass market shops would be the likes of PC world. If you need to get it on line there are number of different places, you could pick up a photograph magazine and flip through the adverts to compare some prices. What's the budget? Supermarkets are a bad place to be buying cameras.
Best stick to certain brands - Sony, Panasonic, Nikon, Canon
Here's a cheap ones to start you off with:

But.. I wouldn't generally spend less than £200-300 on a camera if I wanted something decent.
Do you know what kind of photography you want to do? This budget camera will be fairly limited for 'good' photography0 -

I've recently got rid of an Olympus one...it was rubbish.
I'm now looking for a decent one for £500 ish.

You can get a decent DSLR plus three lenses for that if you want used kit.0 -
