8 years on...STILL having problems re financial associations.

Back story, went BR in Dec 2008, lost my home, repossession included in BR, but only my half, ex partner not BR as far as I know. My credit record is very good, I have rented for 8 years succesfully, and quite happily! I've become a saver and have a couple of low level credit agreements, credit building credit cards predominantly, always paid off in full every month. Yesterday I attempted to get a very low (95pcm) pcp deal on a small car and was rejected. My equifax credit score is above national average and considered 'very good' on Clearscore. The only thing I think may be holding me back is a financial association with my ex. Herein lies the problem, I have no idea where he is and Equifax will not start a 'disassociation' application without his details! Hmm. Anyone had this problem?

In that case I would make a complaint to the information commissionaire.
You are in a catch 22 position unable to move forward whilst this problem exists.
