why would it be deposited in cash?

don't be such a drama queen, you say your BF works in finance so let him do it only by bank transfer then if your bank asks you where all your money has come from you have a perfect trail to show its origin, and anyone looking at your BF's bank account has a perfect trail to see where he got it from to start with

I came onto the forum for help, not to have sexist comments tossed at me in response to my trying to learn and abide by the law. Feel free to point me towards any 19 year olds that know all of the ins and outs of HMRC. Regardless, thank you for the clarification as per the bank transfers.

It wouldn't all be deposited in cash. Most of the time it would be via bank transfer but I wouldn't turn down odd instances where he wants to give me extra cash. People do still carry cash.

So OP has a sugar daddy, interesting choice you have.

There will come a time when you need stand on your own when he gets bored or runs out of money

if the payments are by way of trade, then they would be taxable as earnings.

Are you one of those pretty girls that has men giving you lots of money in exchange for you sending them pouty selfies 3x a day?

... I wish I could do that. There's a very limited market for "older woman who doesn't take care of herself and looks !!!!!! in photos". :(
