Contact Lenses

I use contactforlenses to get my contacts, but I messed up with the order and used my work address and my home postcode, so they have got lost in the post.
I totally appreciate that this is my fault, but thought that the company, after having several orders from me, might offer a goodwill gesture and send them out again. But no, they say if they turn up at their depot, they will repost with an additional delivery charge.
Fine, I guess, but I still need contacts. I'm loathe to use them again (even if they are in the right) cos it seems like backing down.
Can anyone advise of another contact lens company I can use online that I don't need to faff about with prescriptions as Im ordering for a friend and I know he doesn't have one to hand (even though his contacts prescription is up to date and everything).

if it was fully adressed with the wrong postcode it should still have made it to the address TBH0

I use Coastal Contacts, they seem cheap enough and didn't ask to see my prescription when I ordered.

Hi, thanks for that. Yep, apart from getting the two addresses mixed together together, it was fully addressed, except you know how most address have
123 Any Road
Any Town
Any County
Postcode
Mine didn't have anything in Any Town, just the road name, then London, cos for some strange reason, there isn't any, although I could have put Marylebone or Mayfair for the sake, but these aren't strictly right.
Oh vell, I'm taking it as a learning curve. A waste of £55, but next time, little brother can sit by the puta and do it himself. I wouldn't mind (so much) if it were my lens, but it does make me feel worse that the contacts are nothing to do with it and I really do feel as if I've taken £55 and thrown it away.

I use Vision Direct. As far as I remember, they didn't ask for a prescription when I signed up. Also, if you let them send you a reminder email when you're due to buy your next supply, you get free P&P, plus, if you go through Quidco, you get, I think, 20% cashback too.
I haven't had any problems with them.0 -
I use postoptics, http://www.postoptics.co.uk/, very quick service - I use focus dailies, £59 for three months but cheaper if you do 6 or 12 months.0

I like https://www.lensmart.com It's a US company and I've not needed my prescription. they take about 7-14 days to come but even with postage (and the very very occasional times I've been charged customs fees) I've never found anywhere in the UK who can get near the price I pay.Proud to be dealing with my debt!

£55 for delivery charge? they're having a laff. might be worth firing off an email to express your disappointment and your thoughts of switching suppliers, they may back down a bit on the charge. its a buyers market and if you've proved loyal in the past they will try and keep you
if it helps, when people value things they take into account 'sunk costs'
ie you've already paid for the lenses. if they're worth £200 and it costs £55 to get your hands on them, pay it. doesnt matter if you've already paid £200, that money is gone. you'll either end up with nothing for £200 or something for £2550 -
did you pay by credit card? if so you might be able to claim the cost back?0

Ooh can I just pinch this thread to ask a different question on a related topic???
I still get my lenses from the optitican and I'm paying £25 per month for own brand daily lenses
When I looked around for a better price, I could get better lenses much cheaper but I would obviously have to pay for after care seperately (currently included in my £25 per month fee)
So, do you guys still go for after care appointments and how much do you pay for these?
My optitican informed me that they charge £90 for aftercare appointments so when I added this to the cost of the lenses I wasn't any better off by ordering them on line.Debt at LBM (March 2006): £30,000
DEBT FREE SINCE APRIL 2008!!!! YIPPEEEEEE!!!!!0
