How do you get to work at present? If your car is old but still works keep it and save for a replacement rather than get into a credit deal. Buying a car is partly down to luck. My 12 year old astra has over 100,000 miles but runs perfect, is cheap to insure and can be easily fixed at any garage. Best of all i have no car payments! My folks bought a new car and were constantly in the garage. It cost a bomb and they ended up selling it. You don't need to spend 9k on a car. 3k will get a decent commuting car.
