I've been "Approved in principal" for a Post Office loan and they too are sending me the paperwork.
We had the same experience when both my wife and myself applied for a joint loan from RBS,all they wanted was our signatures and that was it.
You would have been credit checked at the time so just sit tight and wait for the said paperwork, and it may well just be your signature they want, however they can in theory ask for any kind of documentation, IE: Wage slips etc.0
