Defrosting HM Soup

Hi, I took a tupperware box of HM watercress soup out of the freezer yesterday morning at 9am, I left it on the sink drainer as it was a cold day and thought that it would be fine by evening. However, at 4pm yesterday it was still rock solid, so made a different dinner, popped the soup in the fridge to have tonight. I just checked it and it is still solid although I can put a knife into it but there is no liquid - what is going on???

I have never had watercress soup, but for any of my hm soups, I would pop it in a pan, add a bit of water, and let it warm up slowly.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member # 593 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts!0

Just defrost in the microwave - dont add water till its defrosted as it may be too thin if it was ok before you froze it.Saving in my terramundi pot £2, £1 and 50p just for me! :j0

I froze some mixed bean soup in foil containers and put it in the oven frozen, worked fine but it was quite a thick soup. Dont see why you cant heat from frozen with vegetable soups.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0

Thanks for the help - it has actually started to defrost at last - it is made with chicken stock and chicken thighs which was why I was wary of heating it from frozen0

When I freeze soup it does come out as a block but not frozen. Gently heating and stirring usually works. Ah - seen your reply. Hope you enjoy it!0
