There isn't one. It is down to each individual employer and employee, and usually in your contract. If it isn't, speak to HR or your manager.

If there is nothing in the contract then the notice to refuse holiday is the same as the length of the holidays.

Holiday rules are in the working time regulations.

I've just read that a notice period of twice the holiday required must be given. e.g. for 1 week holiday, 2 weeks notice must be given.

Requests are twice refusals one times the holiday being requested.

Remember this can be changed by contract.

Wow.

I asked because I think when someone says that they have read something it's good to put the link so that the OP can understand the context. After all, it could have been in The Beano which, given some of the replies on this forum, wouldn't be that far off the mark. Not TELLIT01 to be clear. :D

I do think some members could do a bit more research themselves - but, if a statement is made like "I just read...." it doesn't seem unreasonable to cite the source
