Debt and Newly Separated :(

Hi everyone,
I've posted on here a few times and have been around for some time but I'm in need of some moral support please.
I'm still clearing my debt but have recently separated from my husband - completely amicable I may add and no animosity whatsoever - just fell out of love with each other. We'll remain best friends though so not all bad
What's worrying me more is that once I clear my debt (Apr 17) I will be looking to live ALONE
I am both petrified and excited :rotfl: Does anyone else live alone? Just after some kind words to tell me that it's not as scary as I feel it might be!
Thank you x

Hi,
Your story echoes mine, except from the other perspective, I'm the man, now living alone, she lives with the kids.
Not to hard a slog really, it's something you just have to get used to.
Helps if you like your own company, will be harder if your an outgoing person though.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Thank you for your reply, Sourcrates. I used to hate my own company but I've grown up a bit now and I actually quite enjoying staying in watching films and stuff

I live alone & the most difficult thing I find is food purchase! Other than that, as long as all my payments go out on 1st month, I don't worry about anything
A smile costs little but creates much

I have lived alone for the past 3 years and I love it. I have freedom to do more or less what I want when I want, though I am lucky enough to have friends and I can go see. No kids, no partner at the moment and I really value my alone time but this will no doubt change in time as I am great (no, really)
Financial-wise I find having the responsibility for budgeting is really important to me. Things are a bit tighter, but with careful planning it is easy enough to get by without any great difficulty as long as you know your budget.
Finally, good luck on the next chapter in life!0 -
Just one word of warning though, its all too easy to go mad with the plastic (and other things) on a long, cold, winters night, to try and make up for other things lacking in your life, so to speak.
There were a few months around the time i was first separated, that i still cant remember, drink played a big part, i also gambled online a lot, took payday loans i couldn't remember applying for, all kinds of stupid stuff, luckily all nipped in the bud.
Amicable split, or not, loneliness can be a terrible thing, and make you do silly things at times.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
