Help! Trying to buy console game but have zero knowledge!

Hi, I'm trying to get the best deal on the game Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin (Nintendo DS) for my OH. In most places it is round about the £22+ mark. Amazon have it new at roughly this price and some places have it at around £30 mark.
I know nothing about games!! What I'd like to find out is: on Amazon there are people selling it "new" at around £12.90 + pp - is this just a cheaper price for the same game or could it be that the cheaper game is not the same as the one Amazon are charging full-price for. As it seems a bit too good a deal. Am I making sense? Is it likely to be exactly the same thing just cheaper (but slightly riskier as it's off an independent seller). Are the cheaper ones likely to be fake? Can you fake Nintendo ds games?
Maybe someone knows of an entirely better way for me to get it at a good price(?) I'm scared of going for it in case OH says this isn't the right one or is fake!
Hope I've put this in the right place and hope someone can understand my disjointed ramble.

You will probably find that the amazon sellers would whack on hefty p&p charges which would probably make the game more expensive than other places you have looked. Have you tried running it through pricerunner? and you could also see if any of the catalogue companies sell it and then sign up as a new customer as they always have money saving offers to entice people to shop with them.0

Yeah I thought that too but they say £1.99 p+p which still makes it quite a bit cheaper. I have tried kelkoo and shopping.com and they just come up with the same - will try pricerunner though thanks.0 -
Gamestracker is a pretty good search engine for games.
Game are selling this for 19.99, while a company called Game Collection are advertising it at 16.95. I've never heard of Game Collection before so I don't know how reliable they are.0 -
Fake DS cartridges are available, the 12.90 ones are likely to be fakes.0

Thanks rsykes2000, that helps as they have pretty good feedback but I don't want to risk it. Tried to go the route of buying off Amazon themselves with the £15 off/dvd promotion but only got offered the credit card which I'd deffo get refused for!0
