Just done it - submited

Hello everyone hope you all have great day

After few months asking question today it was the day when I submitted my application for BR

Very confused TBH regarding some aspects like self-employed and court fines as heard very different opinions but at the end of each one was - its up to OR
So fingers crossed and pray for OR who will allow me to continue working as self-employed so I can make money to support myself and pay court fine.
Now is the waiting game so I have prepared lots of coffee and some cigs to help me go through this.
Thank you all for kind words and all help.

  • I was self employed when I was declared bankrupt nearly a year ago. Because I didn't use any credit for my business, it had no impact on me. I had to declare my income quarterly to the OR for them to decide if I should have an IPA, but essentially I was allowed to continue my business as usual.

    Hi

You might find it useful to discuss the effects of bankruptcy on a self-employed business with my colleagues at Business Debtline.

  • keeponknitting how did that work exactly, did you need to submit accounts (or similar) to the OR quarterly?

i am sort of self-employed, have been doing a bit of ad-hoc consultancy for the past 3 years, v.informal, I told the OR this at my interview and gave them all the details of the money I have earned in the last year or so, just wondered how they might monitor it and what to expect

they didn't seem that interested, just told me to let them know if I had a change of cirumstances
  • Thank you,

@NationalDebtline - yes Im in contact with them from July, but its actually them who give me few different answers for my question , but in overall I do understand that end of the day is OR who will make final decision and every case may be a bit different.

Anyway just waiting for my application to be aproved/rejected so quite nervous, but from good side of my story have phone call from my barrister that judge of CC was looking into my case and most likely I will not need to pay court fine which I disputed so is all up to SOA if I will get IPA or not. But once hear back from OR or their office will post any questions here.
  • Just received email says that my application status changed, so checked and its approved.

Now there is question regarding my SOA, will OR look at one submited with application or I will have fill up another one more detailed?

    Thank you.
