Barclays pre-employment credit check

Hi all,
I've been offered a job from Barclay's as a cashier, subject to a credit check. I have a fair credit score, but have a lot of searches on my file from various gambling sites ( i was match betting not gambling) and also from applying for a few loans when I was a desperate student back in August who couldnt get a student loan.
I was just wondering if anyone knows if employers can see the previous searches, or whether they only look at bankruptcies, CCJs and defaults etc?
