Need guttering repaired/replaced - Any advice?

Title pretty much says it all.

I have to get some repairs done to my guttering both front and back, I've contacted a couple of different firms but they haven't got back to me.

I need a reliable firm, I don't mind paying a little more for a reliable firm, as it does need sorted as soon as possible.

Thanks.

Betterhomes and HHI I've found reliable in the past, but if it's small repairs any decent handyman should be able to cope.
  • We had ours done many years ago by Proclad (I think they are part of the Betterhomes Group). They did a good job but we had a hard job getting them to replace sections of the boards and guttering which had faded within the guarantee period. They replaced some bits and not others meaning that we now have a mixture of different shades which looks a complete mess. As part of the job they put air vents in the soffits and I've lost count of how many have fallen out and had to be put back in or replaced.

So they didn't do a good job really?

Not really, but then again I don't know if any company can guarantee against colour fading on a south-facing house. However, they were very reluctant to come out and replace anything (... many phone calls later) so I wouldn't be rushing to use them again. It looked good at the time though and they were very tidy.

Thanks for the suggestions, I have contaced HHI, waiting for them to get back to me but they look a professional enough outfit that if I can get them to the stage of offering a quote that I will be able to get them to do the work.

I honestly thought it would be easier than this to give people money for what will be relatively easy work.

Went with BetterHomes, they are a bit more expensive than the other quotes I got from people over the phone, but the plus side is they showed up, they look professional (I do take note of jenny-wren's comments above) and they will get the job done with minimal fuss it seems.

I had more planned for the money I won from a Trump bet but this is at least improving the house.
