New job after mortgage application?

Hi there,
I'm in the process of buying a house, about to go to Halifax to get a mortgage. I am also in the process of looking for a new job.
It's just dawned on me if I got a new job mid December and the house exchange/ completion is beginning of Jan can Halifax cancel the mortgage because I've changed jobs/ need to complete 3 months probation? If so I better change my attitude and stick out my job until Jan! :eek:
