I use denture cleaning tablets. Very effective for tea/coffee stains in mugs and plastic sinks. I freeze tomato sauces in red containers or in poly bags or in the stained tupperware (now 35 years old!).0

Thanks for the reply. I take it the easiest thing is then just to 'allocate' some containers for tomato based sauces and accept that they will stain?Today is the first day of the rest of your life0 -

UV light helps get rid of stains. On a bright sunny day i put all mine outside in the garden and the sunlight bleaches them. Looks rather odd to the neighbours though! :rolleyes:0

Any idea how to remove food stains, especially red tomato based stains, from white microwaveable containers, The containers are still perfectly serviceable but look horrible!0
