Employment rights

Am I right in thinking that I don't have any rights if I decide to leave my role if I feel I am being unfairly treated? I have only been with the company for 15 months.

Why do you think you are being unfairly treated?
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

Basically yes unless the "unfairness" amounts to unlawful discrimination.

Otherwise, with less than two year's service, you cannot claim unfair dismissal (or constructive unfair dismissal).

And even with two years employment you won't get anywhere unless (a) you have been through the grievance prices and (b) the unfairness is unfairness in law. The latter being a long way off what most people think of as unfair.

I presume you don't need benefits, because there's little chance of you getting them if you resign for this reason.

Looking at your post on "Small Biz" board, it would appear that you have already resigned!

Yes - I had no choice but to. I just wanted to see what my options are in terms of rights after leaving.

Probably none. But unless you answer the question as to why you left nobody can answer.

    Best.
  • Go sick, milk it for all it's worth and then have the great people of MSE tell you that's actually perfectly okay. Forget you wondering if you have employment rights.

What on earth...? How is the OP going to go sick from a job they have already resigned from? And insulting people at MSE is (a) uncalled for, and (b) stupid - since your are a regular poster here and so one of the people you are insulting! Nobody has said it is perfectly ok. And many posters here have had invaluable advice on their employment rights. Whether they have employment rights or not is a matter of law, not a matter of your opinion.

I have to wonder why, since you have such a low opinion of MSE, you spend so much time posting here? There surely must be another site that better deserves your insightful and helpful comments?
