Indian mint sauce recipe

The Indian kind that is. I don't know if this is the appropriate place to post this but DH and I love a curry but we also love that yellow minty sauce you get with pakora etc. DH had a go at making it and although a very nice sauce it just wasn't right. Have googled but not come up with what I think is the right idea, anyone know how it is made?

Hi poodlehorse,
If it's the one I'm thinking of (yellow in colour and a faint lemony taste to it) I think it's called raita. I made it once following a recipe I found online and it was fabulous, but I can't remember which one it was!
It had cucumber, mint, onion, chilli powder and lemon juice in it. If you have a search on google for raita and mint you should find some recipes.

Is it raita?
Now I had been wondering if it was or not because they only ever describe it as mint sauce round here but I know raita has mint in it but because the sauce is really runny I didn't think it could be as the cucumber is lumpy in any raita I have seen made on the telly but then again thinking about it maybe they blitz the whole thing down for restaurants. Now it makes sense why I couldn't find a recipe as there have been loads for raita but Miss Cleverclogs here thought she knew better than it being that. :rotfl: That is more than likely it as we have been attempting it wiht yoghurt, mint, turmeric and garlic but just couldn't get it right at all. Thank you thank you:T 0
