Hi all, i've spent so much of the last 6 weeks or so prepping for and fretting about the OR meeting that I've given seldom thought to how things move on thereafter...obviously this varies markedly on a case by case basis, my key concern is not to do anything stupid
How much OR input can one expect moving forward, in my case we established I wasn't currently working, consequently he was completely disinterested in my monthly outgoings and general day-to-day financial circumstances, (in fact I forgot to fill that page in and he said it didn't matter!) he just asked me to keep them informed with any changes with my employment status.. can I now go back to life as before? obviously I am aware of the legal restrictions etc but is my expenditure going to be monitored again and I get a slap on the wrist for going to a restaurant, buying my kids xmas presents and, possibly the odd cheapo trip abroad? don't get me wrong, I don't have a wedge of cash under the mattress, but I have a v.close and supportive family who I have been generous to in a previous life, and we help each other out -
Just wondered if the OR monitors lifestyle further down the track, DON'T GET ME WRONG, I am not talking about Michelin star restaurants and 1st class to Barbados, but can I live a modest and normal lifestyle or are we expected to demonstrate an existence near the breadline, I.e feeling the pain a bit...the whole experience has been painful enough as it is!

I would just get on with your life now, put this all behind you.
Of course if your financial situation changes before discharge you must inform the O.R, but with no I.P.A you can live you life.
They do not monitor your bank accounts, although I suppose they have the authority if they need too.
Good luck for the future..hold your head up high x0 -
Just to echo luvchocolate's post. Get on with your life. If your circumstances change before discarge then get in touch with your OR. You don't have an IPA , so you are free , so to speak. In all likelyhood you won't hear from them again apart from a letter later on saying everything has been wound up. Relax :-)SPC 8 (2015) #485 TOTAL: £334.65
SPC 9 (2016) #485 TOTAL £84
SPC 10 (2017) # 485 TOTAL: £464.80
SPC 11 (2018) #4850 -
Its not like big brother watching your every move.
The insolvency service just dont have the manpower, the budget, or the need to monitor people so closely.
In an IVA, you have one yearly review with your IP, thats it,
In a DRO, after your letter confirming your DRO, you have no further contact with the IS, even when it ends.
Same applies to Bankruptcy, once your interview is over, no IPA, as long as you have been truthful, you wont hear from them again until you get discharged.

I've had no contact from the OR (apart from when I contacted them to ask a question!) and I'm now almost 2 months in. My situation isn't likely to change at all. I almost forgot about it all the other day. It's a welcome change to the daily worry.0

I didn't get anything at all owlet, from speaking to the OR it was just a case of getting on with it and I presumed I had my AD at the end of 1 year and when I checked I had and that has been it. Not a peep to say it had been wound up or anything probably because there were no assets.
If there is no more money coming in than has already been declared then what is coming in yours to spend as you want. As everyone says, if circumstances change in that first year before AD then the OR must be informed."Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety". - Benjamin Franklin0
