RMS Receivables - Damage Report - Charges

Hey guys,

I know this has been discussed previously but I am looking to get fresh eyes on my particular case.

My 6 year old car was VT'd with Peugeot Finance and RMS sent someone out to inspect and collect.

The guy arrived on time but did not produce any ID of any kind. He signed the relevant section of the V5 then asked or both sets of keys. He then went and sat in the car for 10 minutes, removed it from the driveway and walked around it at normal walking pace and got back in. Then he drove off..

I have not witnessed an inspection and more importantly I was not presented anything at all to sign.

They are now wanting £205 in damages that I believe are rubbish. Two small dents on the A pillars which I have prior photos of which were definitely not there. One small dent under 30mm on the passenger door which I would deem to be fair wear and tear on a 6 year old car. Finally a respray of the rear bumper which I don't believe to be necessary.

I have photos of the car the day that it left the house that prove the pillars had no damage before leaving.

What would be the best way to approach this?

Cheers!

Dave

  • Hi, I had the same last week. I voluntary terminated due to a lot of problems with peugeot themselves. The car was immaculate! I had to pick the bloke up collecting the car up from the bus station as he was late. Told me he would be here at half 4.. was half 5 when I had to go pick him up. He came and inspected the car, told me it had no damage. Nothing to worry about. I watched him as he filled the report in about the car and he put nothing on there. The letter said that one door was resprayed poorly and so needs respraying again.. the car had NEVER been sprayed!!! They also said there was a dent exceeding 30mm on the door. There was NO dent! They also told me I had gone over mileage. I ended the contract on 34 months out of 36 which they're now alleging is 37 haha!! They're going off mileage of 32!! Charging me an over all £300+ !! They sent me a letter out with many spelling mistake and pictures of damages of THE WRONG CAR. Never apologised for this just pure rude to me telling me if I don't pay they will effect my credit rating. Shall be going to the CAB this week! Sent me another one out with NO proof of damages! Bunch of monkeys!
