Car purchase - PCP administration

Hello, I have always purchased my cars by cash or a bank loan in the past. However, there appears to be some brilliant PCP deals around these days. However....I'm at a certain age where I really don't fancy spilling my guts about all my financial minutia and personal details to a salesperson or garage. Has anyone had experience of the process. I appreciate I'm a little old fashioned here, but privacy is important to me. Thanks.

Took out a PCP deal a year, filled in a simple form with name / address/ DOB/ bank details and that was all.0

Me too, I've had 3 pcp deals with 3 different brand dealers over the years and I've never had intrusive forms to fill in, just the same as TadleyBaggie.

Like the previous posters above I took with me all the ID i could think of plus bank statements and payslips.
They were not required! A few questions entered into the systems and hey presto a new car on order.
There is nothing stopping you paying the finance off immediately after you complete on the deal after you have your sweeteners.
If you have the cash and don't like haggling have a look at sites such as carwow who will do the haggling for you. I have not used them myself but the prices look good if achievable.0 -
Thanks for your replies. Extremely helpful in easing my old fashioned mind. Cheers.0

I arranged PCP with VW on a new car yesterday. Other than name, address and DOB I was only asked for the name of my employer and start date with them. Oh and whether I was a home owner or renting. Was accepted in a matter of minutes. Very easy and non intrusive.
Would definitely recommend Carwow. I should have got an additional £1300 off. Just make sure you take the car wow ID number after they've emailed you the quote. I forgot to do this and got so excited about my car purchase that I forgot to mention about it until I'd left and has already signed the contract so was too late.0 -
I tried CarWow but the best deal (by around £1500) was on a pre-reg direct from a dealer.0

Credit agreements have a 14 day cooling off period, you should have done this and then resigned at the correct amount.0 -
I agree with the Carwow recommendations, I used Carwow on my latest purchase and got a discount of £1200!
