    SAO - Advice please...

Number of people in house hold: 2

    Incoming:

My Income: £0 (no job currently and not on benefits)
Partners Income: £3.5K (Gross - She will refuse disclosure)

    Total: £3.5K

    Total Household Expenditure:

    Rent - £1450
    Contents insurance: £10
    Tv licence: £12
    Council Tax: £160
    Gas: £100
    Electricity: £100
    Water: £45
    Groceries / Toiletries: £400
Internet / Telephone - £60 (Virgin package with TV)

    Total Household Expenditure - £2337 (My 50% = £1168.50)

    Personal Expenses:

Travel (Public) - £80 (A monthly bus pass to get me to interviews etc - could be more if I travel into London as I will need a Travel card or oyster to cover the costs of public transport).
Mobile phone: £50 (Will reduce this but use it as my main phone)

    Total Personal Expenses - £50

Total Expenses (50& of Household & ALL personal) - £1218.50

Am i missing something out here? I do not do dry cleaning, I cut my own hair, not had a holiday in 10+ years, etc.

I am aware that i cannot be put into an IVA as I have no income, however when I finally get a job assuming I earn enough then the excess will go to the OR. I was just wondering if my current SOA looked ok so that I can determine how much I would be paying to the OR if I got a job that paid well.
  • Don't be scared to start another thread, MSE won't charge you for it and makes following a tremendous amount easier.

If these are you genuine outgoings per month, looks OK although groceries/toiletries a little above what is usually look on as adequate.

Based on this, jobs paying £17,500 should be on your radar if you do not wish to have an IPA/O put in place. You may have your income tax recovered for this tax year, although it would be a minimal amount and would cease in March 2017 rather than running for 3 years post discharge.

INCLUDE £10 FOR HAIRCUTS AND £40 PER MONTH FOR A SMALL UK BREAK FOR YOU BOTH. ALSO £20 FOR CLOTHES.

    Hope that helps.
