  • I had an email the following day saying the status had changed and then a phone call the day after, so I submitted my form on the Sunday , it was accepted and I was officially bankrupt on the Monday, Tuesday had the phone call , received the pack on the Saturday and a copy of the bank letters the following Monday. I was told it could take up to six weeks for my creditors to receive the official letter and if they contacted me before then to advise them of my bankruptcy number. Only had one so far and they were only writeing to tell me they were passing the account to a debt collection company. I think I started to feel calmer about it after my phone call

I usually suggest a cup of tea, biscuits, deep breaths and patience. We keep the ORs busy, so don't panic.

  • Hi , I had a voicemail left and I was shaking when I called the OR back. But I had a really nice , non judgmental woman & about 15 mins into the call I had almost forgotten who I was on the phone to I was just explaining facts to someone! the only bank account I've had frozen is my savings account & I think that's because there wasn't a letter saying they weren't interested in it! Otherwise my other accounts are all functioning as normal 2 are already cash accounts & my nationwide has been changed to the flex basic.
The pack contained 3 letters to sign & send back , 2 needed a witness signature but this can be a partner / friend etc and asked for things like bank statements , cheque books etc. The bank letters arrived separately and were just copies of what had been sent to my banks.
  • Hi thanks for replying. I don't have any bank statements and worries as I get paid 10 and 15 Nov and nerd the money am I allowed to draw out as normal. After the telephone call is that it its over with? Xz
  • Sorry also did you have to provide payslips if so how many months and will they take my debit cards they are just basic bank account with nothing in

If it's before your declared bankrupt and the OR's office hasnt phoned then yeah its fine...if the OR's have interviewed you then you will neeed their assistance taking cash out then

They will ask....you can tell them about date of wages benefits etc hitting your account....the OR's wont close an account it'll be the bank they MAY close even a basic account depends who you hold the accounts with

  • Thanks I hold with Barclays and virgin. Some money which goes into virgin account is on the 10th do I just say can I use my bank accounts as normal after telephone conversation and see what they say ?

I'm terrible I don't keep paperwork I will have to get payslips via email from employer and then email them on if they ask. I did ask vas when we did this and they said each case is different and they may ask for paperwork or not. Can I ask once I have had telephone interview is that it I just get on with my life x
  • I had to print a years worth of bank statements from my online banking , as my accounts are paperless.
    Last 3 months payslips.
I checked that I could withdraw The child benefit that had gone in the day they rang, as it was for childcare and she said it was fine. As they have no interest in my account ive just used it as normal and haven't heard from them since I sent all the paperwork back so I presume that's it for the year unless there's any changes to tell them of.
