Housing Officer Interview

I have got an interview coming up for a Housing Officer role with a fairly large council.
The job is a generic role which u are required to cover all aspects of council housing on your patch, rents, asb, rehousing, tenancy management etc..
Could anyone please give me any pointers as to what kind of questions to expect as I am feeling extremely nervous about this and don't want to get brain freeze in the interview.
Thanks

Look at the person specification, all questions will be taken from that to show you meet their requirements for the job.0

Also, take a look at the council website, some have examples of interview questions. (Or google to find examples from other councils).
Interviews at councils are always structured and competency based, they ask everyone the same set of questions- as shel already said, to see how you fit the personal spec.
There will usually be an indicator how skills are assessed (a for application, I for interview...).

Some suggestions ...
Read up on their: Allocations Policy - Choice based lettings, transfers, successions, mutual exchanges etc
: ASB Policy and procedures
: Tenancy type - the differences between Introductory and Secure
: Rent Arrears Policies and Procedures, different types of Court Orders and the implications if breached
: Legislation relating to all benefits including Housing Benefit and the upcoming changes to the Benefit Cap. Bedroom tax
: Repair policies and procedures including repair priorities, Right to repair etc
: Right to Buy processes

I assume that if you have an interview ... You already have the experience they are looking for.
I have, in the past, called and had a conversation with someone doing the job, and asked questions about how their policies work .. And if you're lucky, you will be able to glean the possible info required.
If you are in scotland , remember the rtb has been stopped.
Good luck .. Especially if it's with cec.0 -
I would expect a question on equalities / discrimination / anti-discrimination. So find and read their policy on that, and think how it might apply to housing.Signature removed for peace of mind0
