Thank you so much, this is brilliant! :T0 -
Nothing thrilling going on today - it's been filled with running errands and appts.
I've been thinking about when to put up the Xmas decorations, I don't usually do it until a couple weeks before but I might do it earlier this year. We could all use some cheer!
I am still having some trouble with YNAB but love the goal setting bit - though if I want to have enough to buy a house I will need to put away over £1300 a month for years. Nothing like the truth to sober you up quickly!0 -
You will get there misty theres ways and means i know what you mean re saving. I would love too be debt free in twelve-eighteen months but that aint gunna happen unless i can find 700-900 a month too clear off debts. Instead i am paying 400 off debts or will be when i am back too work and any extra i get from surveys that goes off the smallest debts i have.
Plug away lil baby steps, use cashback sites if buying things online and online survey sites can help a lot too. I am waiting on 75-80quid coming in all from surveys. And ziffit 9 quid.debts 16550

I love Christmas and decorating, just hate putting them all away.0

I actually hate putting it all up! What a humbug I sound!! :rotfl: But it's all kept at the back of the garage and shed which is really difficult to get to but I do have it all sussed now. Early December every year I take myself off for a long deserved weekend of R&R with a very good friend and when I get back - hey presto - like magic the tree and decs are up! It does mean that I have to put it all away but I do find that easier!!
Your talk of YNAB MMT is inspiring me to look into it too, but I really can't afford it at the moment. I keep thinking that if I do the trial and then want it but can't afford it I will just be really disappointed!
If you want to be able to save for a house/flat/caravan even MMT like Huskyrunner said there are always ways and means - you never know what's round the corner. I just leave myself open to every money earning opportunity I can get my hands on (within reason!) and if it doesn't work then it doesn't work. I did notice on eBay that some people will pay rather a lot for a pair of used tights - I did consider briefly sticking my pop socks on but just couldn't bring myself to do it! I do have some standards!:rotfl:
Anyway I hope you get your head around YNAB and good luck with your goals! I shall keep following xLBM Jul 16 £26,823.83, Nov 16 £27,961.98, Dec 16 £26,977.66, Jan 17 £26,884.76

Thank you Huskyrunner - I do need to keep positive and take opportunities when they come. I have a friend who reads and re-reads "The Secret", she has told me to let 'the universe' know that I want a house and it will happen. I couldn't get into the book, I'm not sure exactly how it would work but it does give me hope that something unexpected will happen and I will get my house in the end.
I don't like putting the decs away either, PurpleMo2. It seems so depressing after a jolly holiday and the house looks so bare afterwards.
I feel the same about YNAB, Smolly. I'm still trying to figure how it all works but am slowly getting there. I'm afraid by the time I truly understand, the trial will have ended and I will need to pay up or give it up. I don't know why I am continuing really, it would make much more sense to be putting effort into a free program that I can keep. I don't always do the smart thing...
Thanks for mentioning ebay too - I do have standards but they are fairly low.I would be happy to sell my used tights and socks if they went for a bundle, though I can't imagine anyone would want my old tat. I will investigate further. I can just picture someone asking "how did you buy this house outright when you were so skint?" and me saying "oh I sold manky tights on ebay..." :rotfl:

I've just investigated the "worn tights" completed listings on ebay, and it seems the ones that sold for anything decent were accompanied with risqu! photos of nice legs wearing very high heel shoes, neither of which I possess. Oh well, maybe there is a market for old lady tights with photos of fat, dimpled legs wearing ragged slippers...0
