'Phone Farming'

I've seen reddit discussions, youtube videos of people (mostly in the states) running videoclips on mobile phones all day. From what I've researched, it's not as lucrative as it used to be. It's also more of an American thing from what I gather. Yet I have seen a few people in the UK claiming they do it.
I'm looking for more information such as which sites are viable here? The thing is, in the past, like 3 - 4 year ago, I was using sites like Swagbucks on a netbook and they wanted captcha codes fairly often. I think it used to be every 3 videos/20 minutes. Also, they ripped me off and didn't pay me, when I wasn't even afk for them too. I had like £50 with them at the time. I was so annoyed.
I've also read guides, and a couple of people said to use instagc. I used to sit and use that one too. I could comfortably make 50p to £1 a day on that one but that involved a lot of clicking and refreshing. It was okay for that time in my life when I didn't have a job and I could afford to multitask but it's not really viable for me now.
I've read though, that there are sites with longer streams of videos, perktv , perk.tv, checkpoints was another I think. The way some of these are described is that you just have to click your phone screen once every 1 - 4 hours. So it's fairly automated. What I'm thinking though, is that there won't be many in our region?
The less long winded way of asking it I guess, has anyone managed to do phone farming in the UK and make it viable? Are there any apps / sites which have lots of videos that you can just leave alone for a reasonable amount of time?
Also. Are there any good data collecting apps that won't slow my phone right down?

Wouldn't be better ask Reddit users? I did try Perk Tv in the past and it wasn't really farmable - you had to click every 2 hours and you needed unlimited connection as it uses quite a bit. There was a thread on MSE about Perk at some point.ally.0
