1. Yes, I like the BBC Good Food website for recipes, too!
I find it cites reliable recipes i.e. recipes work out as stated in recipe itself, so were clearly fully tested as workable by the G.F. magazine; plus measurements & ingredients are made for UK utensils & supplied in UK supermarkets (rather than recipes from the USA, Australia, etc.) !
2. Should I do more to 'prepare' the pumpkin flesh - BEFORE using it in a pumpkin pie - than just roasting & then mashing/blending/sieving the flesh?
I ask this as I have read in a few places online that the pumpkin flesh should be roasted then sieved/mashed prior to using in a pumpkin piesee e.g.:One recipe (Pumpkin Pie by BBC Good Food [http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/1742633/pumpkin-pie]) even says to boil the pumpkin flesh, then sieve it.

Apparently if it isn't prepped in this way the pumpkin flesh will end up too stringy to be edible in such a dessert!
Is there anything else - as prep work - that is recommended to make these pumpkins useable? A question I raise as so many other webpages have cooks stating categorically that carveable pumpkins shouldn't be used to make a p. pie.
I'd rather be sure before I start baking: I would hateto waste all that lovely double cream, finding out that a Jack O' Lantern pumpkin is just not edible in a pumpkin pie!

If I do find any recipes from the US, I have a set of measuring cups. I couldn't tell you where I bought them. Probably some available on Amazon UK.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
