Nicest Own Brand Jaffa Cakes?
We are having to cut back on many things due to recent circumstances. And Jaffa Cakes are more of a luxury so they have to either go or we get cheaper ones..
I'm just wondering if there is any nice decent alternatives to the McVities Jaffa Cakes? as they are too expensive to continue to buy..
Cheers MSE'ers :money:

I like the Sainsbury's ones.0

Morrisons do 2 sorts - the cheap ones in white paper packaging are rubbish but the ones in the blue box are quite nice and half the price of the real ones.0

We really don't rate the blue box ones in our house. The texture is all wrong.Zebras rock0 -
Can't stand the things myself, but the significant other suggests trying the Lidl ones, he actually prefers them to the real thing!
If you really are craving the originals try
- a £1 shop or b&m/home bargains, they often have them at a more competitive price
- buying in bulk from macro or cosco for a much cheaper price. Or perhaps stock up if there is a supermarket deal, as there often is at this time of year! (If I did this option he would eat them all in one go)
- try online such as approved food or even amazon can often surprise you with their prices of sweets/cakes0 -

As the above replies prove - everyones tastes are different. The only way of finding something you like is to try them yourself
Having said that - this page gives Asda own brand top rating
http://www.supermarketownbrandguide.co.uk/search.php?SearchString=jaffa&Search.x=40&Search.y=23&score=&price=0&pricevalue=0.00
and this taste test ( from 2012 ) also puts Asda on top

we prefer the aldi blue box in our house - OH and littlie could easily eat a tube between them in a day or two. The cheapest ones in the white packet are dire though************************************
