Just wondering when doing e-mail entries that just ask to send your details do people write anything or just send the details? I have my details in my signature so just basically send a blank e-mail - but I never seem to win e-mail entry comps so wondering if I should put somthing like 'please enter me in your xxx compettion'
Which also led me to wonder in light of the SYStTD thread if SOME pppl might send OMG OMG my hamster's got the plague pls choose me e-mails lol.

I just include what is necessary of me.
Subject (although not always stated)
Answer (If there is one)
Name
Address
Email address
and telephone number.
Nothing else, although I'm sure many do add their sob stories, but I have won a couple of things from just emailing what is necessary.
Best of luck for future entries.Thank you to everyone who posts competitions and good luck to everyone who enters.0 -
I've never even thought of writing anything else. I imagine wins from email entries are randomly chosen anyway as there would be no need to read them. Just select one at random, check the required details and draw again only if the details are incomplete. I have won once from an email entry but it was a local comp so presumably not so many entrants.0

I hardly ever bother with e-mail entry but when I do it's only the required information that gets added and I have won that way.0

If the comp specifies a Subject line - copy it exactly - they may be using that to sort all the entries into one place. If not - I usually put [Name of Prize] Competition.
I have won a handful of small prizes - so I must be doing something approximately right....I need to think of something new here...0 -
I do the same - details in my signature, but I have wondered whether they will be visible to whatever system is sorting them.
Might try a cut and paste instead0 -
Depending on how their e-mail system is set up - the signature may get ignored, or stripped out. A blank e-mail might also get automatically treated as spam, so I'd suggest doing as yourgrace and Ms Dee do. I end with "Thanks!" and no more.

thank you , I didn't know any of this. If I cut my signature and copy it back in will that overcome the risk of it being stripped?2018 - £562 2019 - £130 2020 - £276 2021 - £106 2022 - £1400 -
