Hi, my wife's dad made this old settee before he died (he actually made solid wood ends). As he made it, my wife would like to keep it, to keep undercover in the garden. The problem is, the material bit is not :) in very good condition (it was in storage for a while and got wet a few times outside). Is it worth having it re-covered? If so, where do i go and how much would it be to re-cover a big settee? Thanks very much

I think there's a 'not' missing re the material...?

Talk to a local furniture shop, or google to find your nearest, and ask them to quote. Be ready to give dimensions/send a photo of the settee. If it's not a standard size, any recovering will need to be bespoke. Cost will vary hugely depending on how big the settee is, the sort of material you choose and how long the job will take.

Whether it's worth doing depends on whether you are willing to pay the amount asked. Only your wife knows how much sentimental attachment she has to it.

Hi, I know this depends on location but I recommend Jess & Jules. Lovely ladies recovered by antique chairs for me (couldnt work out the webbing myself). really helpful and reasonably priced.

Are you aware just what a satee is - and why your seeking to recover one might be seen as more than a little disturbing?
