From the left the fridge/freezer then top cupboard has all the tea/coffee/biscuits/bread. Worktop has kettle/toaster/mug rack. Bottom cupboard has plates/mugs. Drawer has cutlery. Next is DW. Then comes the sink under which is washing powder/DW tabs/iron.Then WM. Corner has all baking tins/casseroles/saucepans etc and cupboard above has mixer/freezer boxes. Next cupboard has food with herb/spices in the drawer below and mixing bowls etc in bottom cupboard. Microwave is on the worktop with knife block. Then the oven. Next drawer has cake liners etc. Last cupboard has rarely used mixer accessories and the mixer and tea cloths. I never have to move far from the spot when cooking and OH never gets under my feet if he wants to make coffee while I am cooking. Took a long time to get it running well for us but it's ok now.All that clutter used to be money0

OH getting under feet is part of the fun :rotfl: He has this knack of always needing to get to the pantry while I'm in the middle of loading the D/W.0

I have a physically small kitchen these days but more cupboards in that small space, more than I have ever had. They go almost to the ceiling. I designed my new kitchen after 45 years of using other peoples designs. Dishwasher, all dishes and cutlery go into a cupboard next to it. Hob, all pans and casseroles are in deep drawers below. Corner sink cupboards have swivel racks and hold liquidiser jugs, large strainers etc. Often used appliances are out, coffee, food mixer, etc
Main thing is to keep that triangle working as much as possible and to keep utensils near the area they are used in. Then extra space would be for those bits and bobs that cannot easily be categorised. No point wearing yourself out walking back and forth in the kitchen0
