People's greed amazes and depresses me. I'd be thrilled with £150 for a mistake like this.

Who is paying the cost though. Not the business. But other customers. I'm sure everyone would prefer cheaper products.

The concern must be that paying "compensation" is cheaper than training\employing staff of/to a suitable level of competence.

If it is the mortgage that you currently are on, don't you know when your fixed rate is ending?
    .

I suspect the OP did not have a clue about any of the 4 sub accounts and this event has probably done them a favour by getting them to look at what they have.

if they posted the 4 deals they have, they may be able to save money for real if not now but at some point with some planning.

With 4 sub accounts already and looking for more borrowing suggests a proper look at the big picture is needed.

So you have been paid £150 for 1.5 hours of wasted time and no financial loss? Unless you earn nearly 300k a year and can therefore prove that your time is worth more than £100 an hour after tax I would quit while I was ahead. I would have expected your compensation to have been more like £25 - £50 for inconvenience so you have done rather well

If you read it again it's actually more like 30 minutes since the second interview that was meant to take an hour was cut short at the start by saying he couldn't have it.

So the OP wants £500 compo for a wasted half hour telephone call ! On your maths that's close to a million a year earnings rate. Maybe he's mark carney feeling the pinch thinking his job is ending soon ? 😀

    Hi
so it feels like they are trying to pay me off cheap for their mistake.
    Thanks

'On the cheap'?! They haven't mis-sold you anything at all and are making you a very generous offer for a small amount of your time wasted after they couldn't help you.

I hate this greedy and claim at any opportunity type nation we are becoming.

OP can I claim £150 for reply to your post and wasting my time?
