Mushy soap

My soaps always go mushy, despite being in a proper soap dish with drainage holes. Does this happen to cheaper soaps?:o:o

I am a self-confessed soap hoarder and have bars several years old. They all seem fine except one opened just this week and it is cracking and completely disintigrating! Generally the worst that happens is that the fragrance diminishes.
