Non-existent loan harassment

Getting really !!!!ed off now. I've been receiving phone calls from a number of different debt collection agencies, asking to talk to the same non-existent female person. It's a personal phone number, no one else uses this.

Each time I ask them to remove my phone number, another company keeps calling and texting me. All refuse to disclose where they got my phone number from because I'm not the person on their record, but they are more than happy to pass my phone number to another company to carry on harassing me.

Can you block the numbers? It won't help if they pass your number on to another company, but it would stop you getting repeated calls from the same people.

I'd check your credit history if I were you - just in case this mystery female has more of your personal information than just your telephone number.

    Hi,

At this stage all you can do is block there numbers so they cant call you.

You could make a complaint to the ICO (Information Commissionaires office) about the mis-use of your personal information, or if you know the names of the companies involved, then a written complaint could be sent.

You do realise you don't have to answer calls? If it is important they should leave a message.
Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.

Just wondering if this is a mobile number if the number you have now belonged to the lady in question and has now been re-assigned to you?
Maybe your phone operator might be able to help you (although data protection will probably mean you won't get a name)?
