Cheers lovely - really nice to natter tonight!
NSD today - and thanks to a wander with the new camera a decent step count day, also! The new beast is AMAZING - very impressed, not least at discovering (by accident!) that it has a touch-screen. The wi-fi seems to work very well although getting to grips with actually connecting the camera to the phone is proving amusing. Having managed it though it means that a) taking low-light shots with the camera on the tripod, or just resting on something stable, won't require a remote release cable as I can control the camera with the phone and b) shots I take on it when we're away at Christmas can get uploaded onto twitter or instagram without me needing to take the laptop with me to do it! :T
Tomorrow will NOT be a NSD as I'm out for dinner with some friends.Pizza Express and yes of COURSE I've downloaded the 2 courses for £10.95 offer code! :rotfl:
Payday today - money shuffling is done and our VSP savings did eventually creep over £300 - that's the car hire and food covered for the Christmas Hebrides trip then! I had £60 left over in my bank account on the turn of the month - I've left £20 there to cover tomorrow night and transferred the other £40 across to my airshow account.
Need to start thinking about Christmas presents properly. we did quite a bit of the odds and ends for our Niece and Nephews the other day. I've got to order the new Rick Stein book for Mum in Law. Dad in Law is getting whisky for the main part of his present - and my Dad is probably getting a new beard trimmer I think as Mum mentioned earlier that his current one keeps stopping working when he's halfway through! :rotfl: I won't go into details of what my Mum is getting as she's been known to lurk on here occasionally!MrEH's present is essentially sorted as I've got the weekend in Norfolk for him, plus a pair of cufflinks. I'm doing to buy the train tickets we'll need to get us from Cromer to Norwich and back for the event we'll be in Norfolk for, so that's something I can get him to open on christmas day, and I can follow that up with a print out of the details of where we're staying.

Morning all! :hello:
I need to write a shopping list - will probably shop saturday AM this week as I'll be tight for time to get it done tomorrow - we're off to a beer festival tomorrow afternoon/evening.
Just checked Ald1 and L1dl's fruit and veg offers and there's some good ones this week! :T Won't be able to resist 49p mangoes. If the Braeburns are either NZ or British that'll sort our apples for the week, and I'll probably grab the oranges for MrEH. I *might* get a coconut but honestly, I'm not sure I can face the hassle of getting in to the thing.Hopefully the avocadoes will be nice ripe ones as I intend to make Saturday night's tea a "bits & pieces" effort - hummus is already on the list, and may add guacamole to that. *note to self - buy natural yogurt!* I'll probably grab the Shallots too - I have the final bit of Swede from the other week to use so I can sense some roasted veggies coming on again this week! :T
Shopping list so far: (not including POTW & SS)
Milk - MrEH
Yogurt
Bananas
Oven Chips (yes I'm lazy)
Parsnips
carrots (Sorry MrEH)
Meal plan - rough:
Saturday Lunch - Soup from freezer
Saturday tea - chips & dips
Sunday tea: Cheese & crackers
Monday: Roasted veggies with pasta
Tuesday: Goat tagine if I get time to make it
Wednesday:Potato, cheese, Onion (thanks Greying:D ) & bacon (Sorry Greying! :rotfl:) Bake.
Thursday: MrEH - omelette Me: Buddha Bowl
- Need to think about food for Sunday but we *might* be out during the day - we'll have to see.
- If I get time on sunday I might cook some form of goat curry as we still have a pack of goat meat in the freezer. Ooh - no , goat tagine - even better! Must check the dried apricot situation ...
- Need to do a new freezer stocktake generally - it seems to be full again and I need to work out why! :rotfl:🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

your meal plans look fantastic, and no I have not done mine yet.
I am jealous of your cheese bargain. I want some cheese. Right now. mmm at least I'm not craving donuts...0 -
Doughnuts are also good Misty. The fresh cream toffee one I had after my dinner was especially delicious!
Dinner tonight was LOVELY if I do say so myself. Parsnip and sweet potato chips (I decided against the bought oven chips) with houmous, guacamole and the most delicious red pepper, mango & Coriander salsa - really tasty! Should have take a photo a la Greying but it was eaten by the time I thought of it! :rotfl:
Beer festival last night worked out remarkably budget friendly thanks to my lovely friend who is also the ex festival organiser there, and still heavily involved, giving me tokens for most of my beer - reckon including the admission I spent just over £5 thanks to that, plus the train fare. MrEH paid for the cab back from the station, and we were actually home not long after 11 which was actually quite nice. Still didn't manage to wake up until 9 this morning though!
Gradually getting there with the Christmas shopping. I possibly need to use next Friday to do my last bits, as we're doing Christmas at my parents on the 18th.
Must remember to ring the car hire people for the holiday and pay for that, although I might just leave it until after the 10th now so it goes onto the following month's CC bill.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Your dinner sounds amazing! And now I want donuts.
I'm slowly getting the Xmas gifts sorted, and am really watching the pennies this year. If there is something I know someone wants, I'll spend hours searching until I know I have the best price and then see if I can get some cashback as well. It may not be the most productive use of my time but it's satisfying and at the moment I have more time than money.
The budget beer festival was a boon! It's not often you can get away with spending a fiver at those events, you have every right to be chuffed.
I hope you have a lovely Sunday x0 -
The salsa sounds lovely - any recipe for it please?'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0
