Finished Attachment to Earnings

Hi ALL,
A few months ago, I finally paid off an Attachment to earnings which had been dragging me down for years. My employer has now received a letter stating that there was a miscalculation November last year and that I still owe £250 (one months installment). I have had nothing yet to confirm this but I'm sure that is just a matter of time. When the AoE was finished (about 6 months ago.) i used the money I had not had for ages to sort out a few other out standing debts then I finally bought myself a car on HP, the first vehicle I have owned for 10 years. Not only can I not afford a deduction of £250 next month but I'm sure I had a letter stating that I had finished paying this debt as I subsequently sent a photocopy of this along with a PPI claim letter for the original loan.
I cannot find anything around the web with regards the legality of just saying "Oh, by the way, we made a mistake and you owe us another £250" or whether they can just re-apply the AoE without more court procedure.
Can anyone help?:)
