I am so glad I posted on here this morning - I don't feel as hopeless now!
So both are with Lloyds TSB who 1st Credit are contacting me about .
One was an overdraft on a bank account and the other was a loan0 -
I'm so sorry!! I've just read through all my historic bank account and the last payment I made to Spectrum was on the 25th March 2013 - i honestly thought it had been longer than that!
My hope has just drained from me0 -

Its more difficult with overdrafts determining the "cause of action" date, as you are not required to make regular payments to it, like with a loan for instance.
Does it still show on your credit file ?
If so what date was it defaulted ?
Either way, now 1st credit has surfaced, it would not be wise to ignore them for too long, as they have a nasty habit of taking legal action, you should send this letter for each debt, basically your asking them to prove you owe the debt, and that they are legally entitled to ask you for payment.
This letter is specifically worded so as not to acknowledge anything.

Ok,
Its not the end of the world, a creditor must still provide proof of a debt when asked, no proof, no debt basically, no matter the age of the account.
