Getting job history

Is there a way I can get my employment history from HMRC? When I googled it a form came up but it's one if you're claiming compensation and asks you to fill n your history. My problem is I can't remember all of them (there's been a few in all honesty).

So i'm wondering if I can still get it?

Not as far as I know there isn't. I'm surprised that you can't remember where you have worked. What do you need it for?

Do as I do (I bet I could compete on number of jobs!)
Make a list of the jobs you remember in order. Then make the dates fit across the timescale.
TBH I dnt give much detail on jobs past my last 4/5. Most employers aren't too fussed unless one of those roles is pertinent to the role being applied for.

Unless it's for a security check / DBS, in which case being caught lying will lose you the job.

Well if you cant remember,then what?
I would think the jobs that cant be remembered would be a long way back, and likely short term.

Doesn't matter. On both checks you are required to tell the truth! So if you lie and ever get caught in that lie, your job is gone. If you can't remember, say so.

If you cant remember a job,how can you state when one job started and another stopped?
So 20 years ago,you can recall your start and end dates of your jobs? I was averaging a new job every 6-12 months.
I have worked in many countries and over the UK.
So how do you define 'i cant remember?'
Should I put all jobs previous to the last 5 years may or may be right,possibly some missing and possibly all dates are wrong?

Thanks for the replies guys.

I was asking as I was thinking of applying for a job with the Royal Household and they require 10 years worth of employment history.

I thought I read somewhere a while back that you could write to HMRC and ask for it. Does it not class as a sort of freedom of information request on yourself?

There are certain jobs in the Civil Service and MoD (and their contractors) who require information about every job you've ever had. Every single one. If you don't declare something and they find out, you're guaranteed to not get the job.

And that's just the tip of the iceberg. At the end of the process, before being offered the job, they will know almost everything about you. That's the nature of the job.

Sigh, let's try to believe that anyone cares what you think. If you require a security check or a DBS , then neither of them give a damn what you think. You provide what they ask for, truthfully, or not. And if you get caught lyin, you either don't get the job, or probably get dismissed. I don't write the rules. Neither do you. These are simply facts. And if you don't like the fact, that really is tough.

No it doesn't. That isn't even what FOI is about.

You will be subject to security clearance and then some. Surely you must know who you worked for? If your employment history is that spotty over just one decade, and you have no record of it then you will struggle to compete for a job that will attract a great many applications from people with steady employment histories.
