Hi,
all of a sudden I have no sound on my PC/from the speakers. The leas are in the correct place, sound is turned on/maximum, but no sound with videos, utube, anything.
When I click on the 'Realtech (the make of spreaker) HD audio management', and "test", then there IS sound. I only have 2 speakers. When I set to 2 speakers - no sound. 4, 5, 7 speakers, there IS sound
Any ideas please.

Look on the speaker icon below the video screen and make sure that it is turned on. Sometimes, at least on mine, I see the PC speaker is on but the video that is playing has sound turned off, can be a bit infuriating.0

Mmmm. Now (what has changed, except I have set to 4 speakers - I only have 2. 2 does not give any sound).
Sometimes I have good sound, sometimes distoted, sometimes none, and sometimes totally unrelated,or, it will give sound for the first part of the video, and not the rest0 -
et Windows Media Centre plays stored music OK0

Some people are complaining about a Win10 update causing some sound problems. Recommendation is rolling back the drivers but it's all pretty hit and miss.0

Still on ie90

I know this is a silly question but is the speaker cable plugged into the correct place? My motherboard has the option for 5.1 surround sound and therefore many different places to plug in your speakers. Mine has blue green pink, orange black and grey - green being the one that you should be going for. If you plug the cable into the back speaker (or subwoofer) point by mistake it will give you the symptoms you are describing.
Would it also be worth trying the speakers into the front headphone port to see if they want to play well there?0 -
Many thanks Arty. It was in the black port. Could have sworn it wa in this one before reassembly !. Green works well, and on the 2 speaker setting.
All good now - cheers x0
