Funnily enough she says in her bloggy bit about it that the eggs were too runny for her when the dish turned up, and she got them to give it a bit longer to firm them up!
I do love a runny yolk though!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Good Morning :hello:
Well, that's started the day off well. Managed to have a row with DH before the first cup of coffee was even a twinkle in a tea cup. Must be wonderful to be perfect, commenting on events that you didn't even see properly....... *sigh* Thankfully he has gone orf to do something and will be out of the house - and my hair - for a while.
Tea last night was pizza, 2 cheese, to use up the last of the feta. Picture (as the camera survived a bashing-by-baby) here;
I sprinkled oregano and paprika flakes over the top of the cheese, if you are wondering why it looks a bit dark.
We were going to go out today. But it's probably wiser to stay close to home today. Save the diesel I suppose. Watch the six nations. Come on. Who's going to win then?
I'm just hoping for some epic rugby matches, with lots of skill on display. Show these footy lads a thing or three
Tonight will definitely be curry for tea. I am going to do a new recipe with my remaining sprouts, although it is very similar (I think) to a Reza Mohammed one that I have cooked before. Not sure if I'll cook something pulse/bean like to go with it, or rely on dhal. Come to think of it, I have a small quantity of yellow split peas to use up, maybe.......
Right, coffee is all but drunk, and Baby Greying has been sitting quietly and patiently on my knee whilst I have typed, so time to shuffle orf and spend some quality time with them
My life, so rich

Morning :hello:
Bleurgh to rowing. We narrowly managed to avoid one this morning by me insisting on not being spoken to before I"d had breakfast:rotfl: it was a close thing though...
We succumbed to a takeaway last nightso i've got to get my thinking cap on for something cheery for tonight's tea, maybe a curry?
Not even sure what we're having for lunch yet mind you!0 -
Good Morning :hello:
Hope you have all had a good weekend.
Trouble is with me is that i hate being accused of things that I didn't do and unfairness. Interestingly, exactly the same episode happened to DH a few hours later. I chose not to comment........
I enjoyed the 3 minutes I saw of the Scotland v Ireland rugger, I know the home nations are all proud and want to win, but it always seems such a shame that one-side has to lose. But certainly, the bit I saw, it looked like Vern Cotter has been able to marry up inate skills with confidence, so well played Scotland. I think England were very lucky to win their match, not a foregone conclusion at all, and very interesting that 'complacent' was mentioned in commentary, more than once.
We ate our curry, watching the taped second half of the England match. I was very pleased with my 'new' curry recipe for sprouts. It was delicious and very 'light'. I think that it would be a perfect accompaniment to a rich curry - say a korma, and would certainly enhance any plate with a meat curry. I prefer this to a similar curry recipe that I have that is for cabbage - that uses mustard seed, this used nigella seeds and was much, much nicer. The only change I made to the Indian Sprout & carrot curry, was to add a splash of lemon juice and the zest. Lovely. Picture here;
I teamed it with split yellow pea dhal, which used up the last of the peas in the jar. i added in a handful of red lentils, just to bulk out the quantity a bit. no recipe as such, just added green chilli and spices.
Tea last night was fush, chups & mushy peas. All out of the freezer/packets/tins. I have to say, I greatly enjoyed the simplicity of just having to heat it all up and eat it. Even when we didn't have Baby Greying I was sometimes resentful of having to slave away over a hot meal on a Sunday, particularly if we'd been out or if DH chose to sit in front of the telly with the woodstove on whilst I was in the freezing kitchen! It's not a brilliant way to eat, but i figure one meal a week won't harm, and it needn't be for always. just for now, to help me out timewise.
I'm doing spicy vegetables with polenta for tea tonight, it's a Reza Mohammed recipe, which I don't think is on the net - I will check. Just the dish for this cold snap!
I bought some mushrooms from mrAl yesterday - fom the S6, so 59p. I'm delighted to report that they were labelled as produce of co. Tyrone. I did however, leave their savoy cabbages alone, despite being british and 47p, they were very, very limp. Not crispy and squeaky as savoy should be. I did also buy the h3llman$ mayonnaise that was on offer in 1c3land - 600g jar for £1.39. A slight saving on the 800g jars that HB routinely have for £1.99. Thanks to an OP on the food & groceries thread for the heads up.
I have also bought a bag of mrS basics rice to try, in lieu of my usual basmati, as I've not been anywhere near my usual ethnic sources/a really, really huge tescimos or even a diverse morries that have la1la broken basmati on special. I very much doubt our local morries would stock such a product.......... But that too was mentioned on the F&G thread.
After being good and patient whilst I typed, BG looks drowsy. I'm away to make them more comfortable.

I've often used T's valoo basmati Greying and it's been fine.
England were INCREDIBLY lucky to win. I thought it was disappointing to see Hartley clearly slipping back into his old ways and chatting back at the ref too. The Scotland game was good, and it was a nice start to see Ireland getting an unexpected beating early on too. As we've dealt (just!) with France, there's just Wales to worry about on the Grand Slam front now. (Sorry Italy and Scotland, harsh but true!) On the subject of Italy they did exactly what we've sadly come to expect - fabulous first half, fell apart after the break.
I'm afraid I shall not be trying sprout curry any time soon Greying, lovely as you have made yours look.
Glad you tracked down British 'shrooms from Al's too - I managed to get the one pack that was on the shelf when I was in there on Friday, but the second was Dutch. Hopefully there will be a better quantity of British ones next week as I'm fully intending to incorporate them into the meal plan for next week!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Well,we've been round and about to see how far it was, and found it to be just far enough. we wandered over to mrA to get something for BG. I must admit I hate going there, as we either get walked through or barged by VIth formers and their handbags/rucksacks, or have to go the long way round. I chose to go the long way round, and then got a group of people (not IVth formers) -who should have behaved far more admirably than they did - forcefully try to walk through us on the way back! Can't *bleep* win.
I did get 15 FR (mixed weight) eggs YS'd to £1.14 in mrA. There was and entire cardboard crate of them. Someone loused up oon the FIFO system obvs, as they still have until the 13th, before they remember they are 'old' and go rotten overnightI hope they are ok anyway, I might just do a 'float' test with them. I've been having alot of eggs recently (not from MrA) that clearly are 'old' and they've so much air in them, they explode when you try to boil them. I had already slated the buddha bowl this week to involve eggs and quinoa (in the cupboard), so these eggs will help with that. Hopefully a cake may get baked too.
mrW had thoughtfully YS'd their caulis 'down' to £1.25. I wouldn't mind if they were extra humungous size, but they weren't. Meanwhile, m& $ were quietly selling their fresh caulis for £1, and they were quite a decent size too. i wish I had bought one now.
Speaking of m&$, i happened to notice something which I am sure goes on with ALL retailers, so, I'm not singling them out for any other reason that something I saw really hit home with me, because I'd spent some time grating cheese. You'll know I was lucky enough to get some C0rn1sh C0v3 mature cheddar for £2 a 750g block last week. a really good price, for something that normally retails for £5 (or £6.67 per kilo if my maths is correct). Now, I happened to spot that they do the exact same cheese, grated. The pack size is 250g and £3 (0r £12 per kilo- shown on the SEL). Now I know convenience costs - I get it. It took me quite a long time to grate 1.5kg of cheese - albeit by hand. But it struck me that it isn't just the time-poor who would purchase that product. If I had arthritis in my hands/wrists/arms, I couldn't easily grate cheese. That is a heck of a premium to have to pay............
Anyway, there are some strange burbles and smells eminating from BG. I think I may need to do a pit stop.......
