Question for a mortgage broker

Options
Is it possible to have your spouse income as additional income for yourself to obtain a mortgage? As either rental income or just additional income you are receiving? I am in a strange predicamant with my wife, where she has zero gaps in employment history, but for the last 9 months she has been contracting with Deloitte, which is causing issues but she gets paid a lot and I am struggling to find anyone that will even look at it with her on the app, even with zero gaps in employment history.

Any help or advice greatly appreciated!

Currently looking at the website habito but no idea if it is reputable

If your wife is now contracting for Deloitte doing the same work she has a history of doing, this should be no problem in the hands of an experienced broker.

No it's not exactly the same, though she has already been promoted if that counts for anything. She was previously looking after SQL databases etc and now is working on PPI projects with Deloitte

Ok so I rang Halifax today who are a little more open to contractors, as long as there is no gap in history and the contractors contract doesn't end in the next 6 months they will look at it - awesome. We got an agreement in principle for £204,250. Now this app that we have done, these agreements in principle, do they actually do credit searches that affect or are they soft searches?

Basically with the agreement in principle I can go and make offers on houses, I'm just scared that the agreement in principles are not legit, someone please reassure me!

Halifax do soft searches at AIP stage…

As for "not legit", they aren't legally binding, if that's what you mean.
