And have a fabulous time on your date!
Brilliant thing to do volunteering for Crisis, too. Pat on the back needed - nice one!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Thank you. The date was good in the sense he was a decent guy, interesting conversation, a lot of eye contact. Not a lot of flirting though - he is attractive but was very reserved, we talked a lot about work, politics and life in general, not about us. He mentioned I was his first date after a 15-yr relationship, which was a bit of a shock, as I didn't expect that. I'm not sure what to think next, I liked him but feel like something was off, like we were slightly out of sync. When we said good bye he leaned over and briefly kissed me on my lips, which was completely unexpected and I liked that
I'm not sure if he will contact me again for a 2nd date, we exchanged a couple of brief texts since then. I don't intend to ask him out (I'm very traditional - I never do)... so that's that.
Spend-wise the weekend was good, no spend day yesterday, and limited spend on Fri and Sat. I'm planning for a super frugal December and hope to pay a lot of the debt on the 25th. My work bonus is 15% of annual salary and we might get more as our numbers were 130% profit - can't remember how they calculate bonus as we haven't really had such profit in... forever.
Ex is still undecided about moving overseas, I don't know if he got a good offer (I know he got one, but might not be happy about it). I just hope he doesn't move now.0 -
It sounds like things are going well. At least the date wasn't a total disaster, and there is still a chance of things improving. OTOH if things didn't click, there is probably an underlying reason.
Excellent news about the bonus! We're having a frugal Xmas as well. We have a few gifts we are giving to relatives, they are nice but have been bought very cheaply as in brand new things we know they would like that were found for pennies at car boot sales, etc. All this frugality is paying off, I now have a £100 buffer in my bank account, something that hasn't ever happened before. I am determined to hang on to it and not fritter it away on things I don't really need.
Is there a deadline with the offer for when your ex needs to make up his mind about moving?0 -
£100 buffer, congrats! YNAB has this thing called "age of money" which is supposed to be a high number - the higher the better. Mine's like 3 days, meaning it's all from last pay day
No idea about ex's deadline. I'm not asking him any questions anymore, I'm letting him tell me whatever he feels like sharing - basically the only thing I requested was for him to tell me right away after he decides either way. Also asked him - if he leaves, to tell DD when I'm present (he agreed).
So this week is insane with playdates and work parties and kids bday parties and I already feel tired, so as a result I booked Friday off. I read an article that said "doing nothing" is good and I agreed(the reality is that I have a couple vacation days left to take this year and don't want to carry them over to next year)

Quick update from (tired) me.
Budgeting/spending going good apart from splurging on a £50 dress. :guilty: but to compensate I'm skipping next week grocery's shop. The fridge and cupboards are brimming with food. Mum's coming over next Friday and so after that food spend will be higher for a while, but not by much, as she's a great cook
Weight stable, but would love to lose a bit more, 10lb would be ideal. Not the best season to try!
Dating life: no call from le date, this weekend looks awfully quiet and I'm in no mood for reading Internet dating messages from new people.
This weekend looks calm and quiet and frugal. DD will be at her dad's until Sun morning and I'm going to do yoga, tennis, and (hopefully if nice weather) take my camera out to the park.
Off to yoga now. Happy weekend DF wannabees! :hug:0 -
Dear diary, we had a good weekend, spent £2.20 for swimming pool entry for my DD (I have a gym membership) and 80p for bread. Saturday tennis, volunteering, and picking up DD from a bday party (ex couldn't be bothered to keep her until Sunday as planned - sometimes I don't understand him), then we had fun cooking together. Today - local park (v sunny today), photo taking, and swimming pool. My DD entered a local swimming competition in February and now wants to train :-) she does weekly swim lessons but she's told me that wasn't enough.
I'm trying to keep most of December no spend days - the only exceptions apart from grocery shopping will be the 1 day when I'll be doing presents shopping and 1 'pampering' day. I badly [STRIKE]need[/STRIKE] want a haircut and a mani-pedi. I'm quite good with doing my own manicure and pedicure and even facials ha ha, but I [STRIKE]need[/STRIKE] want a treat and that's my Christmas present to myself. Could do with a massage as well, need to look into what my employer's health insurance covers, I think it covers some massage but I don't know the terms, probably massage for posture-related problems only.

Thanks! Looks like December is a lucky month, just got informed that my gross annual bonus will be about £900 higher than I thought... sadly I cannot use any of it as it's going straight to reducing CC debt.0

I'd say that's something to be pretty excited about! £900 to put straight on the CCs - that's brilliant!
Things are ticking right along, it all sounds so positive.0 -
