To celebrate Beyond Caravaggio, the National Gallery is offering you the chance to spend three days in Rome
The prize includes two nights in a four-star hotel in the city centre and a private tour giving you the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of Caravaggio.
The prize is courtesy of ItalyXP.com, an online marketplace specialising in unconventional tourism in Italy.
The winners will also receive two tickets to 'Beyond Caravaggio' at the National Gallery, the exhibition catalogue, and a tote bag.

Terms and conditions

1.1. Entry in this competition implies acceptance of the following rules.
1.2. This competition is only open to residents of the United Kingdom aged 18 years and over, excluding employees of any companies associated with the competition.
1.3. The competition opens at 10.00am on 24 October 2016. Entries must be received by 11.59pm on 27 November 2016. No entries will be accepted after this time.
1.4. Personal data will be processed in accordance with the National Gallery privacy statement
Entries
2.1. For your chance to win this luxury prize, please fill in the online competition form. Entries are limited to one entry per household.
2.2. Illegible or incorrectly completed entries will be disqualified.
2.3. The National Gallery London does not accept responsibility for non-receipt or loss of entries.
2.4. All entries become the absolute property of the National Gallery London.
2.5. The entrant may be asked to take part in post-competition publicity.
2.6. No purchase necessary.
2.7. By entering into the prize draw, and ticking the e-news opt-in box, the entrant is agreeing to subscribe to the National Gallery’s e-news and be kept up to date with news, exhibitions and events via email.
2.8. Multiple submissions of the same email address will only be counted as one entry into the prize draw.
2.9. The entrant may unsubscribe from the National Gallery’s e-news at any time after the conclusion of the prize draw.
3.0.a. Those already subscribed to the National Gallery’s e-news are still permitted to enter the competition.
3.0.b. Entrants already subscribed to the National Gallery’s e-news must submit their email address in order to enter the competition. Current e-news subscribers will not be automatically entered into the prize draw.
The draw
3.1. The draw will take place on 29 November 2016 and the winner will be contacted by the National Gallery by email within 7 days.
3.2. The winner must respond to accept the prize within one week of receiving the email. If the winner does not respond within this time, the prize is forfeited and a new winner will be drawn.

Prizes
4.1. There is one prize of a 2-night trip. This includes: Return flights from London to Rome for two people. Two nights in a 4* Hotel (Hotel Giulio Cesare or similar) in the city centre, breakfast included. Three-hour private guided tour of Caravaggio’s artworks in Rome including entrance tickets. The itinerary of the tour: Pick up at the hotel; Galleria Borghese –the room of Caravaggio (Madonna of the Serpent; Young Bacchus, Ill; David with the Head of Goliath); Transfer to the city centre; Church of San Luigi dei Francesi (The Calling of St. Matthew; The Martyrdom of St. Matthew; St. Matthew and the Angel); Basilica of Sant’Agostino (Madonna del Loreto). Prize also includes two tickets to ‘Beyond Caravaggio’ at the National Gallery, London, the exhibition catalogue and a tote bag.
4.2.a. Flights from London airports only. Flights must be used together, and booked with a minimum of 4 weeks’ notice.
4.2.b. 'Beyond Caravaggio' tickets at the National Gallery are valid until 15 January 2017, 10am–5pm daily, 10am–9pm on Fridays.
4.2.c. Hotel stay consists of two nights for two people at 4* Hotel (Hotel Giulio Cesare or similar) including breakfast.
4.2.d. Entrance tickets for the attractions and transfers during the 3-hour tour are included
4.3. Bookings must be made 28 days before the date of use, minimum. This prize is valid in January and February 2017 and is subject to date and time restrictions.
4.4. Promoters of this competition reserve the right to change the prize to a prize of equal value, should circumstances require this.
4.5. Income taxes (if any) paid on the value of this prize, or any other applicable surcharges such as hotel city taxes, shall be the responsibility of the winner.
4.6. When dates have been confirmed by the winner and hence a booking made by/on behalf of the promoters of this competition, then these dates, names, or the prize cannot be altered in anyway. If the winner chooses not to use the dates he/she confirmed, then the prize will become void. Promoters of this competition will try to accommodate the winner and their companion with bookings of their choice, although this cannot be guaranteed.
4.7. It is the winner’s responsibility to ensure that the winner and their companion have the necessary travel insurance cover required and that their passports have the correct validity.
4.8. All meals, travel and other expenses are at the expense of the winner and their companion.
4.9. All Prizes are personal, non-transferable, non-refundable and cannot be substituted or exchanged for any other prize or cash value. It is registered in the name of the two winners specified by the National Gallery of London.
5.0. The trip is not refundable and there can be no claim on any form of compensation in case of cancellation.

General
5.1. Personal details will not be passed onto third parties or other organisations without prior permission of the entrants, with the exception of contacting the winner to redeem the prize.
5.2. The promoters of this competition are Italy XP, and the National Gallery, London.
