Selling gold

I have a 22 ct gold ring and a 9 ct bracelet which I want to sell for scrap. I`m not in urgent need of the cash. Is there a time of year when the gold price tends to go up? Or is it impossible to predict?

I'd say it's like any other kind of commodity price, exchange rate, there's no way of predicting when it will go up or down. You could look at previous gold values to see if you can see a pattern - there must be a site somewhere that will show a graph of gold ounce prices vs. date.

If the gold price was predictable, it would be flat as so many people would track the price with trades. It's down to guesswork TBH
