Everlasting milk

Is this a record? I'm still using milk that has a best before date of 17th October. It's still passing the sniff test and isn't going lumpy in tea!

Our fridge (Siemens) does seem to be particularly good at making things last, but an extra 8 days is way longer than I've ever had it last before. Our previous fridge wasn't this good.

Got 4 pints out of the freezer (purchased in error by OH) yesterday thinking that I'd be needing to use it today, but the old stuff is still going strong.

Yes. Are you sure you don't have a cold? I have some milk still in date, but it smells off to me. Thought about using it to make scones, but I really can't be bothered. It's going in the bin!

    I've been Money Tipped!
Milk in my experience tends to last quite a while when sealed, not sure if its preservatives as years ago I noticed it went off very quickly when opened!

All I tend to notice now is it doesn't taste as fresh after a few days rather than tasting off.

I think years ago we were all on silver-top and had milk with cream still in it!
Milk lasts now - as most of it is pasturised, skimmed and kept in fridges, rather than because of preservatives..

Milk these days does seem to go on and on - and not go off so readily, like it used to years ago.

It's probably all fake milk and one day they'll confess they ran out of cows and have been making it for years. :)

No definitely no cold. Admitedly I'm sniffing at a 4pt bottle and there's not much milk left in the bottom (still going, day 9) but it doesn't taste off in my tea and I'm sure I'd notice.

I may chuck the remains later, there's only about 3-4 tablespoons left, and get going on the new.

I used to have in-date milk go off, but since the change of fridge it doesn't seem to happen now. Double cream is lasting at least a week longer than use by date also!

Our fridge is very cold. No date on milk as it's delivered by our milkman. I forget to throw out remaining milk before going away and it was still ok when we returned home 12 days later.
