If your girlfriend has work related issues she should seek to go down the grievance route with the company where she works and not down a nasty letter because her sick pay has run out.

If she goes down the grievance route with her issues, the issues and not her sick pay running out will be given the attention/focus.

This is what any employment lawyer worth their salt should tell you because if it goes to a tribunal, any financial settlement that you girlfriend would get, would be cut by 50% for not following the statutory disputes resolution procedure.
